Trust, 2014

The purpose of the conference 22-24 May 2014 is to examine trust and trustworthiness from various academic approaches: Philosophy, psychology, pedagogy, anthropology, sociology, political sciences incl. International Relations, management, theology and religious studies, literature, drama film and drama, history.

The conference will discuss  

(a) how trust may be conceptualized in philosophy and the social sciences;

(b) the nature of interpersonal and ontological trust;

(c) how trust and trustworthiness relate to social capital;

(d) the role of voluntary associations for the creation of trust and trustworthiness;

(e) the creation, maintenance and expression in civil society and the public sector;

(f) trust and confidence in politics

(g) trust and International Relations;

(h) trust as a theory of business management;

(i) how trust and distrust are conveyed in literature, drama and film;

(j) trust and contracts;

(k) trust and faith.
